Alternative Workshop: Scanner as Camera

The following images were taken by using the scanner as the camera. I wanted to scan these at a higher dpi than 72, but it was nearly impossible to get the images to come out the way I wanted to because my body and the scanner objects could not stay still for the 3-minute scanner exposure.

  1. I really like the second image. It feels demonic in a way, with the fog from your breath and your eyeless face. With the contrast of the nice colorful photos to the left, it gives a very creepy vibe.

  2. I really like the interplay of colors and forms in the fourth image (the yellow one)

  3. I love the fourth image. When I first saw the whole group I was immediately drawn to that one because of the action that is implied by the pattern of your finger tips across the image. I also like the tension within the photo created by the composition.

  4. I'm actually drawn to the fifth image. It's simple but striking.

  5. I really like the composition you created with your body and the photos. My favorite is the second one because it is a creative self portrait with stunning composure.
